FIRSTRUST BANK

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh (FHLBank) is proud to offer products supporting homeownership with FHLBank member financial institutions. FHLBank's two first-time homebuyer products, First Front Door (FFD) and First Front Door Keys (Keys), provide down payment and closing assistance to help eligible first time homebuyers realize their dream of owning a home.  FFD and Keys are offered through participating FHLBank member financial institutions that provide first-mortgage financing.

In 2026, FHL Bank will not offer the First Front Door Keys to Equity fund, including the portion that benefitted first-time minority homebuyers and operated as a special purpose credit program established in accordance with applicable law.  While FHLBank will offer a voluntary product referred to by a similar name, First Front Door Keys (Keys), FHLBank s not offering Keys to Equity (and it will not operate) as a special purpose credit program.

The 2026 funding rounds will open on Tuesday, April 7 at 9:00 am Eastern for Keys and on Tuesday May 19 at 9:00 am Eastern for FFD.

2026 Keys

  • The only eligibility category for first-time homebuyers under 2026 Keys is to qualify as a first -generation, first-time homebuyer ( as defined under the Keys product materials) with an income at or below 120% of the area median income.
  • The Keys maximum grant is up to $15,000 ( previously $20,000); and the Keys borrower minimum contribution toward down payment and closing cost is $1,500 ( previously $1,000).
  • To participate in Keys in 2026, a member must have an FHLBank- approved FFD Enrollment on file.  No other 2026 enrollment steps are required for Keys.

2026 FFD

  • FFD will continue to offer support for eligible first-time homebuyers with incomes at or below 80% of the median income.
  • First-time homebuyers contributing a minimum of $1,500 toward down payment and closing costs are eligible for the maximum FFD grant of up to $15,000.
